THE WONDERFUL COUNTRY.
There’ s a wonderful country, far over the sea— Where everything’s just what il oughtn’t to he. For the dogs eat their dinners with knife, fork and spoon, And the sun shines at night, in the daytime-the moon. The birds are like fishes. They swim in the seas, And donkeys xierch singing on Lop of the’ trees. The mice knit the stockings and rabbits make mats, The cattie wear petticoats, pigs picture hats. The ladies wear rat-traps on top of their heads; They sleep oil the floor and the cats use the beds. The goats, clad like nurses, take children for walks; A babe a month old never yells, blit it talks. Men walk on their hands and they work with their legs, They feed upon centipedes, worms ap.cl bad eggs. Little girls love their lessons far better than play, And the shopmen sell toys, hut they won’t accept pay. Now if to that country you got for a change, At first you may think it a little hit strange; But after a while you will find it quite tame, \ And wonder why every place isn’t the same.
