TELEPHONE CHARGES.
NO HOPE OF REDUCTION

The local Chamber of Commerce js urging for a reduction of telephone’ charges, but the Department does not hold out any immediate hope of an alteration. The principal reason is the heavy' capital charges for extensions and for automatic installations.
