EGMONT A. & P. ASSOCIATION.

MEETING OF GENERAL OOMMITTeE. On Saturday the ordinary meeting of the general committee of tlie, Egmont A. and P. Association was held, Mr. E. A. Washer presiding; oyer fan attendance of about thirty members;NATIONAL DAIR Y ASSOCIATION. Messrs E. A. Washer and, S. G. Tonks were appointed delegates, to be associated with, tne committee set up to entertain members of 'tlie National Dairy Association. 5 Mr. H. Gillaiiders said it was necessary to appoint a committee to entertain the N-.0.A. delegates, and in this work it was necessary,, to get evefy local body interested. ” : M.U , .ROYAL SHOW. A. request was received for a subscription from this association and the appointment of two delegates, to whom privileges would be granted. It was resolved that the association rdoViiot affiliate with the Royal Society this year. The amount that would be neces. sary from the association' would be £7. The general.- feeling was-voiced by Mr. A. Hunter, who said that he believed Egmont, with all others, would come in eventually.' but the time was not due yet. • ■ ~ DRESSING SHED'S. Air. L. 0. Hooker wrote conveying the thanks of the committee set, up in connection with ‘dressing sheds, and also for use of the, association's - room for meetings. “ ~ "’". ’f ; ;

The question was briefly discussed, after the secretary had lead the most essential portions, of the draft .-agreeraenc between the association and the Hawera Football Club, which is arranging for the erection' of the sheds.. It was stressed by; several members that care must be . taken to see that all athletic bodies had the -use of the buildings. The agreement was' adopted. a clause being addecP to the effect that a joint committee /.lie appointed. Messrs Hunter Gillahders, and. Tonks were appointed to represent the .• association 011 the committee. j : f FARMING OPERATIONS! ;

In connection with the farming operations of the committee responsible for its direction, appreciatioVi was expressed at the excellent •result's- achieved, and Air B. 0. Lysnght, who directed the policy of the. committee,,was thanked for his good'Work.

-Sir Hunter said the result was equivalent to . nearly £5-per acre. In acknowledging this, Mr Lysaght * said it, was due 'ar.gely and mostly to the rise in wool and meat markets." He would like, however, to, cordially acknowledge the good work of Air C. Ogie, the caretaker. The president agreed, and said that no man could take a keener interest in the work than Mr Ogie. ...

BALANCE-SHEET. - The draft balance-sheet and profit , and loss statement were read by the secretary, and were adopted for circu- • -■ lution amongst members. GENERAL., It was decided to grant permission to Messrs R. P.. Morrissey and Co. to hold a pedigree sale on behalf" of A. and J. O’Donnell, on Wednesdav, July 29. • ‘ - The date for receiving nomination’s for election of officers was fixed as May 23, at 5 p.m. Mr. A. H. Hansen, Dannevirke’, forwarded a letter making, a donation of the expenses incurred by him in .coming to judge at the last show, arid he was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.

Resignations were accepted of Messrs W„ T. Bailey, S. J, Bailey, and N. Hannah.
