IN ENGLAND. OPENING OF THE SEASON. BY CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION -COPYRIGHT LONDON, May 2. The cricket season opened in cold and showery weather everywhere. For Leicester against Sussex, King made 114, securing the first century of the season. The inauguration of the county cricket season marked new hours of play, viz., noon to 6.45 p.m. on the first day, 11.15 a.m. to 6.45 p.m. on the second day. and 11.15 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on the third day, with an extra half-hour if needed.
