Mr T. It. Lane, who for the past two years has-been a popular member of the post, office staff at Kaponga, lias been transferred to Dannevirke, and left on Wednesday to take up bis new appointment. Prior to his departure Mr Lane was tendered a send-off by a gathering of friends, who assembled in the Parish Hall, and was presented with a travelling fug by the townspeople and a, fountain pen by the postal staff. He is succeeded as telegraphist, at Kapong by Mr G. If., Dick, formerly, of Wellington. BUCKRELL’S.
