Sir, —May I, through the columns of your paper, appeal to the residents of this district for help for the Mead family (Mr. Watts’s- employees), who have lost everything in tiie recent fire, and have also suffered the terrible ordeal of seeing their infant daughter perish in the fiamesp Subscription lists are open at the Kakaramea, Alton, and Manutalii post offices, and subscriptions may also be forwarded direct to myself.—l am etc., F.
