The Empire Community Settlement Committee reports that its scheme, aiming at the establishment of residential settlements in the dominions of ex-officers and .others who axe without capital, but who possess pensions or other fixed incomes, has attracted the widest response from pensioned ofFiceils and civilians who have spent their lives in the military or colonial services, and who are desirous of settling in warmer climates than Britain’s and of giving their children opportunities that are not available here. —Aus.-N.Z.
