INFANTILE PARALYSIS.
LAST NIGHT’S REPORTS. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.J GrSBORNE, April 20. After a lapse of a fortnight another case of infantile paralysis was reported m Gisborne to-day, the patient being a girl aged one year nnd eleven months. TIMARU, April 20. Two new cases of infantile paralysis were reported to-day. NO MEDICAL CERTIFICATES. OAMARU, April 20. Dr. Pickeril!, of Dunedin, who brought one of his sons to the Waitaki Boys’ High School to-day, was surprised to find on arrival tlujt the Health Department had made no provision for students presenting medical certificates before being admitted to a school. Dr. Pickerel! felt so strongly upon the subject that be despatched a telegram to the Director-General of Health, protesting against students being permitted to enter secondary schools without such certificates. SEVEN DAYS’ RECORD. WELLINGTON, April 20. Official returns of infantile paralysis issued for seven days show: TaranakiHorowhenua. 4 (previous period 4); Wairarapa-East Cape. 1 (4); Central Wellington. 1 (1); Nelson-Mar’borough, 3 (0). ' Though there is a decrease in certain centres, the total, nine cases, corresponds with \he previous returns.
