The urgent necessity for an elective alarm system u/id tor a lire engine of the latest and most approved type' was ■vties-ed by the dh airmail of the Fire Hoard at its meeting yesterday. As tiie result of a long discussion, the board resolved to empower the chairman to confer with Inspector Hugo and to bring down a comprehensive repeat on the subject at the earliest possible date. in introducing the subject, the chairman (Mr. J. G.
