Tile tally clerks declined to continue to work, in view of the attitude adopted towards the vessel by the maritime unions. After a little delay four returned soldiers replaced them and work proceeded smobhly. A largely attended • meeting of the Trolley, Draymen’s and Motor Drivers’ Union passed a. resolution endorsing the action of the Seamen s Union and the Wa-tensidens’ Federation in declaring the Volumnia “black."’ It was decided not to remove the cargo at present being unloaded from the vessel by the Returned Soldiers’ Union. According to an official statement, members of the Returned Soldiers Union are prepared to meet any exigency which may : b© the outcome of the ipresent situation. They are determined that no obstacle will be placed in the wav of having the cargo unloaded taken to the various. port of destination. It was therefore decided, if the occasion, demanded it, to provide the neeesisarv oonve vances to remove the cargo and man the vessels to take that cargo- to the other States
