COMMUNIST WEAPONS. IN FIGHT WITH POLICE. ay CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT BERLIN, March 14. Six persons were killed and twentythree seriously injured, while thirteen others suffered lesser injuries in a collision between the police and Communists at Halle. Shots were fired immediately after speeches by English and French Communists.. The police had previously informed the Communist Party that foreign Communists would not be allowed to speak. When a German Communist started to translate the speeches a police officer protested, and when the audience showed hostility he'summoned reinforcements and ordered the people to leave the hall. The crowd attacked the police with empty beer glasses and chairs. Suddenly a. shot was fired from the gallery against the police, who replied with shots, inflicting the casualties mentioned.
