It by lio means struck people over here that it was the flat, stale_ thing spoken of in your papers, a/id I believe it cornpayed very favourably indeed in the public’s opinion with what they expected of the Dominion. The "sense of proportion was by no means lost on them. I heard also that the catering there was the best in the Exhibition. ’ ’ The death of Mrs M. F. Evans, widow of Mr Francis W. Evans, 00..-lined ..-lined in Auckland .recently. Mrs Evans arrived in Auckland in 1.87 R by the ship May Queen, and hacl readied the age of G 9 years. She is survived by one ■laughter, Mrs G.
