HAWERA’S BANDMASTER.
SUCCESSFUL CAREER. Lieut. Eox, the newly-appointed, bandmaster of the Hawera Municipal Band, has had considerable experience with military bands in England, and many- New Zealanders who knew him in France during the war period «n also testify as to hie capabilities as a bandmaster. He comes to' Hawera from Hastings, where he has been connected with the band in that town, but previously he served for several years ae conductor of the Oamaru Band. With Lieut. Fox will come Bands-man-Ward, who is an expert trombone player, and who has accompanied Lieut. Fox on his travels for some time. In other centres where he has been engaged Lieut, i Fox has taken a great interest in drum and fife bands, alid it is fortunate that his coming synchronises with the suggested formation of such a band in Hawera.
