LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP WON BY MRS. PEAKE, /BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.; HAMILTON, Sept. 25. The New Zealand ladies’ golf championship ended on the 27th green today in favour of Mrs. Peake (Cambridge), who defeated Miss M. Payton (Auckland) 10 up and 9to play. Mrs. Peake’s steady, consistent play won her the championship. Miss Payton was to-day particularly off her green work. The ';ri£s:t championship meeting was fixed for Miramar. 1 HAWKE'S BAY CHAMPIONSHIP. NAPIER, Sept. 25. The Hawke’s Bay golf championship was continued to-day. Results : Second round.—Parker heat Riddell 1 up; Ropata. beat Kelha 4 up and 3; Fryer beat Dodgshim 3 up and 2; Kapi Tareha- beat Davies 3 up and 2. Semi-finals. —J. B. Parker beat S. Ropata, 2 up; Kapi Tareha beat F. C. Fryer 6 up and 5. The final will be played to-morrow.
