DAIRY INDUSTRY.
A MODERN FACTORY. OPENED BY MINISTER, (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DANNEVIRKE, Aug. 5. The Hon A. D. McLeod, Minister for Lands, yesterday participated in the opening ceremony in connection M'ith a modernised factory at Tereliunga of the Tamaki Dairy Company, jin its completed iform, the .present factory i s the latest edition to one of the earliest co-operative concerns in southern Hawke’s Bay, and is the largest of its kind in the pmvinoe. It Is built of concrete and covers an area over 12,500 square feet in the main building, and is up to the minute in the matter of modern appliances. The prncipal speakers were Messrs A. H. Hansen, chairman of directors, E. A. Ransom, M.P. (Pahiatua), and the Minister. The last-named congratulated the district on the enterprise and indicated- that the primary producers would benefit under the forth, coming revised railway tariff. He dealt M'ith post-war reconstruction, the need for increased production in primary products, an improvement in the quality by testing and better breeding, and suggested as a factory motto: “Quality before quantity.”
