SEVERE STREET EXPLOSION. BY CABLE— rBESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT LONDON, Aug. 4. Thousands' of pounds worth of damage was caused through a severe street explosion owing to the fusing of electric cables at Deansgate, Manchester. Six shop fronts were wrecked and pedestrians ha c f narrow escapes through the upheaval of paving stones.
