SR-—As I have to leave Hawera tomorrow, will you kindly do me tne layout- to allow me, through your columns, co thank the Chief and the Executive Committee ol the Scottish Society for the generous hospitality and kindness 1 received from them during my stay •ii Hawera. I should like to thank in the same way rnv own committee, and Air MaeKenzio, manage*!- of the Rank of New Zealand. through whose thoughiiulness I enjoyed the hospitals it.v of the Hawera Club. From yourself, Air Editor, 1 received every consideration. I cm- to a professional brother you have been good and generous; and lastly. I would like to thank Mr Jones, proprietor of the Egmont Hotel, whose guest I have bean, and who has been most kind and considerate. A very distinguished scientist on one occasion blew in on some friends, and when he left they regretted the bird who sang such melodies of life had flown. I am not yet in the ranks of those who attain to such tilings, but to all [ have mentioned, and to hundreds of others who cheered the little day individually—‘Here's ma’ ban’ mu' trusty freens.
