OBITUARY.
MR A. RICHARDSON. The death occurred on Saturday afternoon of Mr Alfred Richardson, aged 67, at his residence, 62 Collins street, Hawera, after a short illness. Mr Richardson was born in Louth, Lincolnshire, England, and arrived in New Zealand at the age of 18. taking tin his residency in Taranaki, where he has resided ever since. He spent the first five years at New Plymouth, and was a member of the Volunteer Corps at Tataraimaka, Since then he has been living in or near Hawera. For 12 years he was engaged in farming at ‘Norman by, and for the past 13 Tears he has resided in Hawera. The 'late Mr Richardson was of a retiring nature, hut he had built up a reputation for straight, honest dealings, and had a most kindly disposition. He is survived hy his wife, but had no family Hie deceased belonged to that great body of pioneers who have done so much for the country, and who laid the HJiindivtions upon which the prosperity has been built.
