The police expedition to rescue the Douglas Mawson survivors has not yet started, and the general opinion is that it never will. The captain of the Huddersfield had a disagreement with the owners and lelt. Inciw parts were ordered from Sydney, and wrong parts were sent, so the engineer also left.
