JOY RIDING.
TO BE PUT DOWN. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. 1 PALMERSTON N., Aug. 4. At the Police Court, Frederick Rule, Neil ' Larsen and Charles Strickland were convicted and sentenced to one month hard labour for unlawfully taking a motor car and converting the same to their own use. The magistrate said he- was going to put this fiorL of thing down. Each day someone s car was taken. An application was made by counsel to have each sentence increased to enable an appeal to be. lodged. The magistrate added that joy-riding and taking cars was becoming a serious matter, and more cars had been taken. locally over the week-end.
Senior-Sergeant O'Grady: Three ears have been taken since Friday last.
