Farmers and Business Men of South Taranaki! This Concerns YOU! The PATEA FARMERS’ CO-OP FREEZINGJCOMPANY, Ltd. Despite a vast amount of work carried out by the Committe endeavouring to reconstruct the above Company, it is now clear that a further £IO,OOO must be subscribed, otherwise the Works DEFINITELY GO. There is a feeling prevalent that the Works will not go, but it is certain that unless the balance of the Capital required is subscribed, they will go. The Final Meeting in connection with the Amalgamation will take place on the 4th AUGUST (Monday next). Everyone having the interests of the district at heart is urged to attend at this Meeting. Unless the £IO,OOO is subscribed by then the Capital already subscribed must be returned by the 16th August. This is your last opportunity of retaining a Farmers’ Works in this district. If you have already subscribed, TAKE SOME MORE; if you haven’t, SUBSCRIBE NOW. The terms on which the Works can now be acquired are exceptional, and this appeal is FINAL. Application Forms and 2/- per share deposit must be received by AUGUST 4th. Applications and form of Prospectus may be obtained from the Secretary, c/o the Works, Patea, or from Mr. J. E. Palmer, Waverley. (For the Committee) A. T. CHRISTENSEN, f , Chairman. ■' S FIVE REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD SUPPORT THE PATEA WORKS. (1) You have the opportunity to acquire these splendidly equipped works at HALF their value. (2) You have an option of Freezing ON YOUR OWN ACCOUNT, placing your stock on weight or selling to the Company, on the hoof, at FULL MARKET RATES. (3) The. fact of being Proprietors of YOUR OWN WORKS allows you to control your Produce from your farm to the London Markets, a privilege which would probably cease on the extinction of the Farmers’-owned Freezing Works. (4) The effect of the Works being in operation in this district is the main factor in keeping down Harbour Rates, there being no doubt that the full rate would be levied in the event of the Works ceasing operations. There is also no doubt that the closing of the Works would affect LAND VALUES in the Patea County. (5) There is no question that the fact of these Works operating during the past season has been one of the chief factors in MAINTAINING the KEEN COMPETITION for Stock. CALLS SPREAD OVER TWO YEARS.
