TIDAL WAVE.
AT OITA TH AAT ISLANDS. (by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION ) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 1. The steamer Tecs to-night brought news of a tidal wave at the Chatham Islands, four fishing launches being wrecked, but fortunately no one was injured. Some of the fishermen, liowe\er, had-a terrifying experience.
