BYFLEET MURDER.

FATE OF VAQUIER, BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. LONDON, July 30. M. Herriot’s entourage emphatically deny that M. Herriot interceded: on behalf of Vaquier, the Byfleet murderer. The French Government will not interfere with British justice. M. Herriot, however, sent a personal letter to Mr Arthur Henderson (Home Secretary), asking that the fullest consideration be given to any extenuating circumstances. The legal correspondent of the Daily Chronicle says Vaquier was proved guilty on the clearest evidence, hut public opinion is disturbed, there being a feeling that Vaquier alone is bearing the consequence of a crime. The public is not satisfied that full justice has been meted out.
