The widow of Mr George Speyer, banker of Frankfort, left £500,000 to charities, education, and science, including the study of cancer. Capetown, November 14. The Assembly passed the Light Wine Bill. Mr Sauer foreshadowed an amendment empowering municipalities to issue light wine licenses. (Received 15. 9.35 a.m) New York, November 14. British officers representing the War Department won several of the leading jumping prizes at the New York horse show. Lieutenants Corkeand Montefiore took the Grand Cup jointly.
