COTTAGE AT WAIPAWA. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Waipavva, November 14 A building situated in Ruataniwha road, occupied by Mrs. Adams, who with his wife was away from home, was destroyed by fire on Saturday The furniture, none of which was saved, was insured in the State office for £125, and there was also a small ■amount on the building in the Alliance office. OUTBREAK ON THE WARRIMOO. Dunedin, November 15 A fire broke out on the Warrimoo •while lying at Cross wharf, at 3 o'clock this morning, amongst the flax and timber. With the aid of the City Fire Brigade the fire was suppressed at 9.30. VESSEL SERIOUSLY DAMAGED. Later About 18 feet of water was pumped into the Warrimoo at the rate of 3000 gallons a minu'e. This is now being pumped out, and the extent of the damage will not be known until the work is completed this evening. Ihe fire worked through into the forecastle, and some of the crew had their clothing and effects damaged. It is considered that the damage to the csrgo and steamer is fairly extensive. The intense heat buckled and bent the steamer's plates and girders.
