The Hastings Standard. SATURDAY, MAY 9, 1908.

The Hastings Town Band give notice that all instruments, uniforms, music etc., the property of the band, must be returned. The evening service to-morrow, in the Wesleyan Church will be conducted by Mr J. L. Wilson of Christchurch. Mr Wilson is one of the foundeis of the Methodist Church in Canterbury, and has been a preacher nearly 60 years. He has the reputation of being a vigorous and forceful preacher and lecturer. Two boys were brought before Mr W. HKIop, J.P., at the Court this morning and charged with breaking and entering the shop of Mr W. H. Bowler, Bookseller, on the 6th inst., and stealing therefrom the sum of 30s. The boys were also charged with stealing a pick the value of 4s, the property of the N.Z. Government. Both boys were remanded to appear at Napier, before the Stipendiary Magistrate, at 10 o'clock on Monday morning. A first offender was convicted and fined 5s and costs for ...'.wkennes*.
