Liberated Seals.

DEATH OF NELLIE. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Christchurch, July 25. One of the seals at the Exhibition, known as Nellie, was found stranded on the beach at New Brighton either sick or injured, and was despatched as an act of mercy. The animal was made a great pet of, and became very tame, which is supposed to have unfitted it to makeits own living when released. The other seals are still said to be ravaging the trout at the mouths of the rivers.
