Man Electrocuted

(Per Press Association). Wellingtons November 1 William Wilson, a driver, was electrocuted near Miravnar. One of the district lighting wires had been broken and he tried to move it off the road. Death was instantaneous. The line carried a voltage of 1000. November 5 William Wilson and another man, William Weldon, were engaged carting timber tram the wharf to Kilbirnie and it appears that the wire had been pulled down by a load of furniture, and in doing so a portion of the insulation was torn away. Weldon noticed the fallen wire and drove over it, but Wilson jumped off the cart to lift the wire to enable another vehicle to pass. Immediately he touched the wire he fell, and died almost immediately. His left hand, which had been in contact with the wire, showed signs of burning. Deceased was single, and is believed to have come from Australia. An inquest will be held this afternoon.
