Received September 18, 10 a.m Melbourne, Beptember 18 I The Federal Government has accepted the joint tender of the Union Steamship Company and the Huddart Parker Company for the Tasmanian mails service contract, for three years from October Ist. It provides for three times a week service between Launceston and Melbourne throughout the year for a subsidy of £II,OOO and for a service between Melbourne and Burnie once a week for eight months and twice a wieek for four months in the year for a subsidy of £2OOO.
