PORT ARTHUR.
Received April IN, 0.10 a m. London, April 16. The Strashni, with four other destroyers, was scouting. The Strashni dropped her consorts in a fog. She endeavored at daybreak to creep alonr the shore to Port Arthur, Ti>ut was intercepted ar.d sunk. Admiral Togo reports that he attacked Port Arthur on the lit* instant and sunk mines at midnight. At R o'clock next morning he withdrew his ships to a distance of fri"teen miles. The Petropaulovsk, com iog out of. the harbor, struck a mine The Japanese official account states that fourteen Japanese warships l;«bind Liautishan Hill bombarded the fortresses and town alternately on Friday, when 1*:~> projectiles were thrown in three hours. The squadron, including the Pobieda, according to Russian accounts, replied from the anchorage batteries.
