(By Telegraph). P.almerstioii North, Feb. .11. The Supreme Court sittings commenced this morning. The criminal list includes five cases —theft, • assault, causing bodily harm, burglary, and carnally knowing a girl under age (ten years). In his address to the jury, and referring to the latter ease, J list ice Cooper said it was a matter of very great regrel that those chargal with the arimin-ist ration of criminal law in the colony found these cases happening so very frequently. There was scarcely a sitting held .anywhere ibut one or more cases of indecent assault upon females, and in some instances out-' rajaes upon children, were not on the calendar.
