At the Anglican General Synod to-day. a cuscussion arose out oi a uioUion by Ur Hudson on the Bible in schools question. This proposal container a request to the Government. tor a reiei'eiidum.

The Primate deplored the fact that so little had been -done after 30 years' exertions by the Church. Mr Speight (Auckland) that the Church should recognise once for all the fulility of ever expecting the State (o give denominational teach, ing im schools. Tha amendment was carried 1 by a very large majority. A resolution expressing satisfaction at the decision to hold an Anglican Congress to deal with missionary and other finest ions was carried. It was alsod decided that the time has come when the various provinces of the Anglican, communion" within the Empire 01" missionary dioceses of the Church of England should federate, and a federal council be formed.
