Hawkes's Bay Wool Sales
AN ANIMATED MARKET. [special to the standard.] Napier, last night. The third of the present series of wool sales was’ held to-day. The sellsre were Messrs White and Wenley, the Loan and Mercantile, and Williams and Kettle. About 600 balsa were offered. The attehdance of buyers vas not so numerous as at last sales, but the competition was brisk, and fair prices were obtained. Fine half-breds showed an advance of three farthings, and ordinary bright strong crossbred an advance of a half-penny, on the last month’s prioee. Low grades showed no improvement, but locks and pieces generally fetched full values.
