Mr Chambers saw no reason why the matter should not be dealt with then. Mr Matthewson said they wan getting into a system of private contract. Mr Bennett thought wherever possible they should call for tenders for work, and hl moved tha( tondsrs be called. Mr Chambers seconded, and the motion wa's carried, being for the supply of ten cote of wheels and nine waggone.

Mr Shelton considered the position of the Board’s officers should be thorougly understood, and be thought the m idling might resolve to appoint a committee to center on the matter. Mr Bennett seconded—there had been much talk and diesatisfaction among ratepayers at the position not being deflued. Mr Shelton would like some older member to name a Committee. Mr Matthewson recommended that the two new members be appointed, and it was resolved that Messrs Shelton and Bennett and the Chairman should act as a Committee to enquire into the arrangemente with the permauent officers and report at next meeting. TIME OF MEETING. The Chairman gave notice to move that the ordinary time ot meeting of the Board be altered to 7.30, instead ot 7.
