ROWING NOTES.

(BY OUTBIGGEB.J The Gisborne Club have a big turn-out thia week, with the junior fours and double scull events to come off. I intended again taking the crews individually and pointing out the merits and demerits of each, but I have been completely overshadowed by topics of a more exciting nature and now it is too late to aay all I would like to say, so that I will refrain from criticising except to give my opinion that the various .vents will be well contested. The first race will be rowed from the shed up to Mr Graham’s, and will b* between

Bourn, sirok. T. Adair, 9 Evans, 8 McKee, bow AND Ratcliffe, stroke Parnell, 2 Trimmer, 8 Foster, bow An interchange of boats will then be made, two fresh crews taking possession of the superior race boats, and the next race taking place from Graham's down to the Club’s shed, the craws being— Miller, stroke Dickson 2 W. Chrisp, 3 Colebourne, bow AND Sage, stroke Hennessy, 2 Karaitiana, 3 Garrett, bow z The first race takes place at five o’clock, and the final will be decided on Thursday evening. My tip for the first heat and for the final is Bourn’s crew. I have since learned that the double-scull events cannot come off this week owing to the new sculls not having arriv.d when expected. Captain Tusker has kindly given medals for the winners of the junior fours, and Dr Innes has given two handsome sups for the winner* M the double Bealls,
