The weights for the Hawkes Bay Jockey Club’s Spring Meeting have not yet been declared although they should have been published on Wednesday last, the advertised day. Says the Hastings Star:—“Great disappointment was expressed this morning by trainers and owners of horses engaged in the H,B. J.C's Spring Meet* mg at the non-appearance of the weights as they were advertised to come out yesterday evening. Such laches as this cannot be tolerated, as owners living at a distance, and also local owners, look for the weights to appear up to date. Whose fault it is, is an open question, but still, as this is not the first occasion upon which tne same sort of thing has occurred it is time it was remedied in some way. In previous handicaps the H.B.J.C’a handicaps have not given much of a line to their handicappers.
