The Hall Company.
On Monday evening next the Hall-Perman Burlesque Combination appear at McFarlanes Hall. The company have earned the favorable opinion of the Napier public, and should do well here. Says the Nanier Telegraph : — " At the Gaiety Theatre on Saturday evening Mr J. L. Hall and his company made their first appearance in “ Fun on the Bristol.” The performance was well received by the audience, and of the company it may at once be said that they are capital variety performers. The singing, dancing, and posturing were very good, Miss Laura Roberts gave several selections for which she was deservedly applauded, while Miss Bella Perman’s song and dance were as a matter of course redemanded, her high kicking being marvellous. Mr Harry Hall was a good racy, mirth provoking Widow O’Brien, while Mr J. L. Hall was a diverting count. Gus. Lynch as Captain Cranbury seemed boneless, his antics and dancing being very amusing. The other characters did what was required of them well. In the second act the Yokes Family gave an almost indescribable performance, the contortions, posturing, and high kicking reminding one strongly of the Girards, who a dozen years ago astonished colonists by heir astounding antics.
