NOTICE is hereby given that I, ARTHUR JOHN COOPER, of Gisborne, Bootmaker, have this day filed an appeal to my customers that I am willing to sacrifice my Large and Varied Stock of BOOTS AND SHOES for the purpose of clearing out of " Bankruptcy Bay.” This is a genuine notification, and ho reasonable offer will be refused, as I intend to retire at a very early date. A joke is a joke, but Gisborne people are carrying It too far, so buy me out and let me “ get.” To work hard for the public, and then to be “ had ” in return, is not good enough. RULES: 1. —The Peas to be placed in the jar before certain wellknown townsmen and sealed with their .seals, 2. —Every Purchaser to the value of ss. cash shall be entitled at the time of purchase to one Ticket for every ss. worth bought. 3. —The Purchaser on receiving his Ticket may either place the number he guesses thereon AT ONCE or put it in any time before the 24th Sept. 4. —Under no circumstances will a duplicate Ticket be issued. 5. —Tn the event of two or more tieijig for any Prize they will divide, that is to say,—Suppose two tie for the First Prize they will divide First and Second, and the next nearest will take Third Prize, and so on. 6. —GRAHAM, PITT, & BENNETT reserve to themselves the sole right of decision in the event of a dispute. 7. —No Tickets will be issued or received after 24th Sept., when the Peas will be counted and the Tickets checked by a Committee, and as soon as possible the successful numbers published. 8. —Every Pea in the bottle (broken or not) to count. ggg” PURCHASERS in ANY DEPARTMENT entitled to participate, n Buyers in I two Departments may add the purchases together.
