Her Majesty will have so many Australian albums after this jubilee year that she will be able to give Prince Henry a start in the bookagent line. Brisbane is the latest place that has prepared one of these affairs. It contains views of Brisbane twenty years ago and of the Brisbane to-day. It is thought that when the Sovereign views the Brisbane of twenty years ago she will feel so overcome that she will need all the sal volatile within twenty miles of Windsor as an antidote. The London correspondent of the Paris “ Figaro ” announces that he has seen “ Jubilee pills ” advertised. We know what they are —The Imperial Institute, the Women’s Tribute, and the Church House. Pills, they are! But John Bull is no going to swallow them, for all that. “ Augur ” in the Australasian, reduces the Melbourne Cup selection to a quartette, and goes for Silver Prince, The Jewel, Menotti, and Lord William. Howell beat Woodside at Birmingham, on May 23, in the Ten Miles Bicycle Championship of the world. Woodside led until the last lap, when Howell went to the front and won by 10 yards.
