A CONVERTED FREETRADER. OPENING OF THE QUEENSLAND PARLIAMENT. THE MELBOURNE EXHIBITION. Sydney, July 19 Mr Dibbs, the prominent politician, has announced his conversion to the policy of Protealion. H.M.S. Nelson loaves to-day for Fiji. Brisbane, April 19 Parliament was opened yesterday by the Governor whose speech referred to the beneficial effects of the Imperial Conference. The introduction of several new measures was promised, notably the Redistribution of Seats, Local Government, Water Supply, and Copyright Bills. A Bill will also be introduced for the establishment of a Queensland University. Mr Morehead was appointed loader of ths Opposition. The debate upon the Address in Reply stands adjourned. Melbourne, July 19. Tne Victorian Government are using every endeavour to induce the Indian Government to reconsider its decision not to participate in the Centennial Exhibition.
