MOTOR-CYCLE RACES AT OMOTO

Yesterday afternoon the Greymouth I Motor Cycle and Light Car Club held i a practice meeting on the new racing track at Omoto. The track was in good condition, but soft at the cor- [ ners. On Saturday the track had, beqn worked up, harrowed and rolled, i ana coated with waste oil to keep ' down the dust, and bind the surface. | For the first practice of the season, | there was some very good riding, lap , times being slightly slower than the , last meeting last season. However, i when the track is firmer, there should : be some very line riding if cyclists 1 keep up to the standard set yesterday. ! A. Ash rode well, gaining two firsts : in as many starts.
