ATHLETICS Many Pressmen For Auckland Games
AUCKLAND, Nov 7. One of the biggest concentrations of newspapermen in one centre will cover the Empire Games at. Auckland Thirteen are expected from Australia three from England, and one Irom Canada. In addition, the Press Association has requested accommodation for seyen representatives, including Vernon Morgan, sports editor of Reuters London. Some United Press Association representatives are expected. Twenty-four, including six- photographers, are coming from New Zealand papers outside Auckland. The 8.8. C. is sending- two, and there will be live New Zealand BroadcastingService representatives from outside Auckland. > A large city hotel has been booked for the soie use of visiting reporters, commentators and photographers, but it will not accommodate the expected total of over 40 newspapermen. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov 7. Two of the world’s best known athletes, Reg Harris and E. McDonald Bailey, are prepared to come to Christchurch to compete in the Canterbury Centennial Games in Christchurch from December 26, 1950, to January 3, 1951.
