Dannevirke Robbery

DANNEVIRKE, Nov 7. A robbery occurred at Dannevirke last night fit the shop premises of. Mr A< Spiers, confectioner, High Street and about. £BO in cheques and cash was stolen. As the result of inquiries by Sergeant McGettigan and Constable Wyatt, a young man residing at Kumeti, some miles from Dannevirke was questioned and later the police recovered a canvas bag cintaining about £3O hidden under a hedge close to the residence where the young man lived. When they returned to the house to question him further they found he had vanished. Tibs morning, between 6 and 8 a.m., a motor-car disappeared from a residence near Dannevirke and it is thought that this may be connected with the departure of the suspect.
