His boyhood friend, Louis Hayward, watches as Scott breaks an industrialist who helped him and then steals the wife of the ruined, man. The tense and dramatic climax is reached when Scott, confident, suave, enormously wealthy ,and at the peak of his career, attempts to steal the fiancee of Hayward, his best friend.
