KIPPENBERGER’S BOOK BRINGS U.S. TRIBUTE
(Rec. 10.5) NEW YORK, Nov. 6 New Zealand soldiers were unsurpassed for straight, tactical combat, whether as desert rats in Africa, or mountain goats in Italy, said the New York “Times” to-day. It was reviewing the, book, “Infantry Brigadier,” by the New Zealander, MajorGeneral Sir Howard Kippenberger. “The Times” quoted Sir H. Kippenberger as saying: “It was most interesting to be with the -Americans when New Zealanders fought alongside the United States troops.” “The Times” reviewer commented: “The feeling was mutual.” He added:. “If a book is part of the war’s payoff, the New Zealanders are will paid by this account.
