(Rec. 5.5). LONDON, October 13. A sidelight on election speculation was an offer by Major Roy Farran, a 28-year-old triple D.S.O. of World War II to throw up a well-paid job in Southern Rhodesia to fight in the election as a Tory candidate. Major Farren, whose book, “Winged Dagger” was a best seller, is ready to fly to London at once if the Tory headquarters cable “yes” to his offer.
