Leaking Flour Ship Turns Back
ADELAIDE, Oct. 12
The freighter, Rowanbank 7600 tons), loaded with 9000 tons of flour for India, radioed that the ship has “fractured its main deck” and has turned back to Port Adelaide. The ship is making water in No. 3 hold and is believed to be 700 miles out at the eastern end of the Australian bight, but should reach port on October 14.
