NO ARRESTS YET FOR OTAGO MURDER

DUNEDIN, October 10

In spite of intensive investigations by the police, there are no further developments in the Moa Creek mystery in which William Fraser McIntosh, a 63-year-old farmer, was battered to death in his own woolshed.

The police have been handicapped from the start by the absence of any apparent motive and the failure to discover the weapon.

The investigation has extended as far afield as Invercargill and Queenstown, while the lonely back-country around the farm has been combed in search for anyone who might supply helpful information. Ponds and lagoons have been drained, areas of ground have been dug over, ditches and other possible hiding places have been searched, but no likely weapon has been discovered.
