COBDEN CLUB The first round of a Yankee tournament was almost completed before rain caused play to be abandoned oni the opening day of the Cobden Tennis! Club at Cobden on Saturday. The season was opened by the club’s patron, Mr F. W. Baillie, who emphasised the value of working bees to assist club finances, and urged younger members to assist in this way. The St. Columba Tennis Club was also scheduled to commence th e season at the week-end, but it was postponed on account of bad weather.
