Women’s Institutes

PAROA WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

At the September meeting of the Paroa Women’s Institute, Mrs Price presided over a large attendance. An invitation was received from Brunner Institute to attend their birthday.

Mesdames Price and Hughes were appointed delegates to the half-yearly meeting at Stillwater in October. Mrs Dodd gave a demonstration of making a doll’s'head, which was much appreciated.

Competition results were. —Best bloom, Mrs Reid 1, Mrs Wallace 2, Mrs Gurden 3. Marmalade Mrs James 1, Mrs Fairhall 2, Mrs Butler 3. The marmalade was donated to the Home and School Association for the bring and buy on October 15.

The hostesses were Mesdames Bishop, Tibbs and Reid.
